Not only did King write the screenplay, but he also starred in the second vignette as the hapless Jordy Verrill, and his own son, Joe, was cast as Billy for the wrap-around story. Still from Creepshowĭirected by Romero and produced by Salah Hassanein, Creepshow starred many a familiar face, including Leslie Nielson, Hal Holbrook, Tom Atkins, Adrienne Barbeau, Ted Danson, Ed Harris and EG Marshall. Creepshow is their tribute those poetic justice-filled pages. Both King and Romero grew up in the times of EC Comics, most notably Tales from the Crypt, and both acknowledge the influence these ten cent magazines had on their own personal, horror-soaked journeys. I finished because I found it fairly interesting. I picked up this novel because my boyfriend thought it was good and I had just seen the movie. We are then able to see the aftermath and the hardships of trying to rebuild society after the human race nearly went extinct. He accounts for politics and how greed, fear, and worrying about how we appear to others often get the best of humanity. Some reviewers are comparing it to the style of We Were Liars, which I can definitely see: But, the problem is that I love poetic prose to a certain extent, though not when I feel the metaphors and language aim to cover up a case of not much happening.
